The pontoon range includes piled pontoons, strut pontoons and cable pontoons.
Piled Pontoons
A piled pontoon is characterised by the piles, to which a robust aluminium pile bracket is connected to the pontoon and the pile working to secure the pontoon in place and allowing the pontoon to move up and down the pile with the tide. Our piled pontoons are constructed with In-situ piles, which comprise of a steel reinforcing which is placed within a PVC pipe and filled with a custom concrete mix using a concrete line pump.
In-situ piles are commonly seen in canals and are used for smaller-sized pontoons under 12m in length.
Strut Pontoons
A strut pontoon has an aluminium strut arm/beam from the land to the pontoon, and this, in conjunction with the fixed gangway connection work to secure the pontoon in place. The strut arm is reinforced with cable braces allowing the pontoon to move up and down with the tide.
Strut pontoons are commonly seen in waterfront locations with restricted use of piles or quieter waterfront locations.
Cable Pontoons
A cable pontoon uses robust stainless steel cable braces to secure the pontoon in place. The cables are attached to two land-based mooring blocks and cross over one another to connect to the opposite corner of the pontoon. The gangway is also fixed in this application.
Cable pontoons are incredibly versatile, and like strut pontoons, they are ideal for quiet waterways and locations not suited for piled pontoons.
