For cable pontoons Gold Coast, Brisbane, Bribie Island, Sunshine Coast, Northern NSW and beyond, look no further than Micks Marine Maintenance; the cable pontoon dock experts.
Cable pontoons are the most economical pontoon option for your waterfront home. For calm waters and small watercrafts, they are an affordable and highly functional solution – they provide all the benefits you would expect of a jetty or pontoon without the heftier price tag.
If you live on a calm canal or lake and are interested in having a cable pontoon installed, then Micks Marine Maintenance can help!
How Cable Floating Pontoon Docks Work
Cable pontoons feature three components; the pontoon floating dock, the gangway, and cable braces. Each component is connected to one another to provide a stable and durable pontoon solution.
- The gangway is the walkway that allows you to move from the shore to the floating dock. It anchors to the shore with a concrete mooring block. We fabricate our gangways from high-quality materials, including marine-grade 304 aluminium and offer marine carpet and mesh flooring options.
- The floating dock connects to the gangway. We can create floating docks for cabled floating pontoons up to 8 metres long, depending on your land size, location and budget. Our pontoon floating docks are made from a custom 125mm concrete deck, which features a polystyrene void bound in HDPE liner.
- Finally are the cable braces extending from the shore to the pontoon floating dock at each side of the gangway. The left cable connects to the right side of the gangway, and the right cable connects to the left side of the gangway. This cross-over ‘X’ design provides vital lateral support to the gangway, preventing it from moving from side to side.
Why Choose a Cabled Floating Dock?
Cabled floating pontoons are a great alternative to a jetty and present many benefits. The biggest is the low-cost price tag. Compared to jetties, strut pontoons and piled pontoons, cable pontoon docks are by far the cheapest option. However, it’s important to note that they are only suitable for calm waterways.
They are the perfect entry point pontoon for someone just getting into waterfront living, who may not have a boat or has only a small boat. Cable pontoon docks provide the ideal platform to enjoy the waterfront lifestyle and are great for fishing enthusiasts. Although they are the budget option, they still offer the durability and longevity needed to make this a very well-worthwhile investment.
